TGBL Shipping and Handling Policy

Each product has a list of delivery options that are listed on the Vendors shipping page. In most instances the Producer or Vendor will ship products direct to the Purchaser using our approved courier companies.

  • Perishable goods, such as fresh and frozen, will always be shipped direct in temperature controlled packaging by specialist couriers.
  • Non-perishable, ambient, consumer packaged goods may be shipped by the Vendor, TGBL or a third-party specialist.
  • Virtual goods such as tickets, events, e-books, gift vouchers and experiences will be emailed direct to the recipient specified at checkout within 24 hours of sale.

Shipping within the United Kingdom

Both perishable and non-perishable goods can be shipped throughout the UK.

* Multiple products of the same size from the same seller will often not increase the delivery cost, although in exceptional circumstances a small handling charge may be added for each item over and above the shipping charge. Free shipping is often provided for products ordered within a single order from a Producer over a certain value. Free shipping may also be provided as part of a voucher or promotion scheme. Please check the total cost on the checkout page.

EU Shipping, excluding UK

Only non-perishable goods can be ordered for delivery to the EU and Scandinavia, and are grouped as follows:

Western Europe

Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Denmark, France, Germany, Monaco, Greece, Portugal, Italy and Spain.

Please allow 3-5 working days from notification of dispatch.

Rest of Europe

Andorra, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Gibraltar, Hungary, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macedonia (Republic of), Malta, Moldova (Republic of), Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland.

International shipping (non-EU)

TGBL will also ship internationally by prior arrangement and at cost price, including completion of all export documentation.

Some or all of the shipping methods will be offered by each Vendor, along with the appropriate charges for their products. We take great care in ensuring that shipping and handling costs are kept to a minimum for all customer orders, and that they fairly represent the actual shipping cost.

Always check the relevant product page for accurate delivery information as, by purchasing an item, you agree to the stated delivery date and cost. In the event of any change you will be notified of a revised delivery date via email from the Vendor.

Delivery times

The Vendor will include details of delivery times on the relevant product page and will let you know when they aim to dispatch your products once the order has been received. You will also be notified once the products are dispatched.

If you want more information about delivery for a product that you’ve already ordered, please contact the Vendor direct seller using the contact link in the Vendor page or the contact details within the order confirmation email. If you are unable to contact a Vendor or require further assistance, please get contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

On rare occasions, there may be a delivery delay beyond our control, such as severe weather or disruption caused by electronic hacking of the courier, as happened to a few couriers in the UK in Q2 2017. If there is a delay beyond the expected date of receipt, please contact the Vendor initially, and, if you feel you want to escalate the matter, please contact us at support@TheGreatBritishLarder.com .

Delivery and promotions

If you take advantage of a promotional code, unless specifically stated the reduction is usually applied only to the price of the product and not to the delivery or handling cost.

Any free delivery offers refer to standard UK delivery only.

UK delivery of standard products

Most standard orders to the UK are delivered for £5 or less, per Vendor order, although many are less than this or even free. The delivery cost is always based on the product’s size and weight. We take great effort to ensure that the shipping and handling costs are appropriate.

If a product is delivered free of charge, then this will be clearly displayed on the product page. If a promotion is offered for free or subsidised shipping, then the terms will be clearly displayed on the promotion.

UK delivery of non-standard products

A non-standard product is something that’s considered to be fragile, rapidly perishable, high value, large, heavy, or something that has exceptional delivery requirements. We endeavour to ensure that the shipping is kept to the same flat rate where possible, but in exceptional circumstances there may be an additional surcharge. Surcharges will be specifically mentioned on the product page.

UK tracked express delivery

If you need something quickly, many Vendors offer Tracked Express Delivery to UK destinations. The product will be delivered within 48 hours from time of order, most often the next working day although this depends on the time of order receipt by the Vendor.

EU and international delivery

EU and international delivery is only available on certain non-perishable products, and is clearly displayed on the product page. The cost for delivery is calculated based on the destination, size and the weight of the product.
